Matt Corkery – Texas Tech University Womens Associate Head Coach – Sets and Quick Hitters

corkeryMatt Corkery finished his third season as the associate head coach for Texas Tech women’s basketball. His main responsibilities include recruiting, defense, guard play, scheduling and scouting. Matt was instrumental in the development and growth of Tech’s guards, including All-Big 12 selection Amber Battle, who led the team in scoring for the first time in 2013-14. His experience as a head coach and recruiter helped the Lady Raiders land one of its most promising recruiting classes after just his first season at Tech. Battle only improved under Corkery’s tutelage during the 2014-15 season, becoming the 31st Lady Raider in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point scoring mark. Corkery was also a key cog in the process of bringing in not only the talented crop of transfers waiting to take the Big 12 by storm in 2016-17, but also the two freshmen ranked in ESPN’s top 110 coming out of high school to play in the 2015-16 season.
